About Sweet Potato Music

“As a new mom, I noticed that my musical play had a specific focus on ear training, pitch, rhythm, and movement.

I began developing songs and activities that honed in on the things that felt most important for my young daughter’s musical development, and that is how the idea for these classes was born.”

Leah Paul, Founder

Developed by Leah Paul, the heart of Sweet Potato Music is her library of original songs that both delight and enrich young children and parents alike. The brains of very young children are uniquely receptive to the fundamentals of music making that are crucial to being a well rounded and capable musician later in life, as well as foundational to childhood development.

Every Sweet Potato Music song is crafted to engage children actively and passively with musical skills and developmental milestones baked in, setting the stage for a life of music loving and the joy, confidence, and cognitive benefits that learning music brings to a child.

Whether you have any musical background or not, by participating in Sweet Potato Music, you will take part in fun and enriching musical play, and learn how to bring it home into your everyday life to support your child’s development in an ongoing way.
